Stet Sanborn serves as SmithGroup’s National Director of Climate IMPACT. He is both a licensed architect as well as an ASHRAE Fellow. He serves on ASHRAE’s Center of Excellence for Building Decarbonization Executive Committee, where he has led, co-authored, or overseen the development of more than six guides covering decarbonization. Stet was also a co-author of the ASHRAE Advanced Energy Design Guide for Zero Energy Multifamily Buildings. In addition, Stet serves as a technical account manager providing technical assistance to the US Department of Energy’s Better Climate Challenge program. At SmithGroup, Stet leads a team of more than 30 interdisciplinary colleagues focused on computational analytics, sustainability, high performance design, as well as climate adaptation planning and economics.
Stet will present on strategies to right size all-electric retrofits, including make-ready steps to avoid unnecessary costs and delivery challenges. Stet will use real world examples of projects undergoing retrofits and share the lessons learned. He will also share out key technical resources that are now available to dive beyond the hype and deliver high-quality, high-performance retrofits that will actually achieve decarbonization goals.
